Development: Parents Fund: Questions and Answers

The Parents Fund Case for Support
The Willamette Parents Fund was created to allow parents and families of our students to support Willamette’s undergraduate experience directly. Here are a few common questions from parents:

Q: What is the Parents Fund?
A:
Individual gifts from parents and grandparents of current or graduated students given annually.

Q: Why does Willamette need parent support?
A:
Our tuition only covers 65% of the cost of educating Willamette’s students. The generous support of Willamette alumni & parents helps close that gap & ensures the high standards of Willamette University.

Q: What level of gift is needed?
A:
A gift of any level helps Willamette fund these important programs. Therefore, we ask every parent to make a gift at a level commensurate with the parent’s ability.

Q: Why is The Parents Fund especially important to undergraduate education at Willamette?
A:
The Parents Fund supports students by investing in programs and campus resources that make a difference in their day-to-day experience. Directly and indirectly, the Parents Fund increases and substantiates the quality and breadth of resources that are available for Willamette students in the areas of Technology Advancement, Library Innovation, Academic Excellence and Scholarship, and Student Life.
