Wireless Connections

Introduction

To connect to BlitzNet, Willamette's wireless network. You will need:

A PC running Windows Vista, XP, 2000, ME/98 -OR- A mac running OS9 or OSX
A built-in wireless card (AirPort) or an external wireless card (PCMCIA or USB)
Network software: Firefox is our preferred web browser, but IE or Safari will work
Your original system software CDs (On rare occasions)

This document assumes that you already have the appropriate hardware and software installed, and that you are familiar with your operating system. No Wireless Network Card? No problem. USB-WiFi cards are readily available at most electronics stores and are often "plug-and-play" simple.

Most of the campus buildings have Wireless available. You must be physically located in an area where wireless access is available before you can set up your connection.

Set-up Instructions

To configure your computer to access BlitzNet. Choose your operating system:

Windows 2000

Windows XP

Macintosh OS 9

Macintosh OS X

Web Printing - send print jobs over the wireless network using a virtual print queue on the web
