General Description:

WITS is seeking current Willamette University students to work with faculty and WITS staff on curricular development projects. Students will work singly and in groups to plan projects, develop timelines and assist faculty to explore the use of technology resources in their teaching. We hope to assist the faculty in expanding the use of both traditional and new media and technologies. Projects may range from scanning slides and locating internet materials to website development, Blackboard course design and implementation, graphics and audio production, digital video, and the use of social software.

The program will begin in September with a paid training period that will include an introduction to the theoretical (design principles, development and management methodologies) and the practical (hands-on use of tools and applications). After training, developers work on their own schedule for an average of 10 hours a week, although design review and training update meetings will also be scheduled throughout the year.

Requirements:

Web page authoring experience, digital graphics design and production, and knowledge of digital audio and video editing applications are helpful, but not required.
