Managing Popups in Netscape 7.1
Pop-up windows ("popups") are windows that appear automatically in the browser window. Popups usually appear as a smaller window on top of the browser window.
Popup blocking is turned off by default in Netscape 7.1. To enable popup blocking:
Blocking unrequested popups usually does not block cause any problems with popup windows that appear when you click a button on a web page. These popups are not "unrequested", as you ask for them by clicking on the button. However, some web sites will not work properly if you block all popups. Netscape allows you to keep a list of sites where popups are allowed. To add an allowed site:
You can also add an allowed site by choosing Tools > Popup Manager > Allow Popups From This Site when you are visiting a site that uses popups.
Netscape can play a sound or display an icon in the status bar when it blocks a popup. In the Popup Windows Preferences dialog box, check the appropriate boxes if you want to play a sound and/or display an icon in the Netscape status bar. If you click on the icon, the Popup Manager window will be displayed (see previous paragraph). Then, you can add the web site to your list of sites from which you allow popups.
NOTE: Blocking popups doesn't always work. Some web sites may use methods to display popups that will not be blocked by Netscape.
