Classroom Equipment Maintenance
All classroom equipment malfunctions that occur during teaching times are considered emergencies by WITS. They should be reported immediately by calling the WITS Main Office at x6004 or Marti Morandi at x6650. We will get a technician to the room immediately for assistance. Please do not submit a service request for these situations. For after hour and weekend classroom emergencies, please contact Campus Safety at x6911.
Classroom equipment is checked for inventory number, proper working condition and cleaning four times each year: holiday break, spring break, before the beginning of Summer Conferences and at the end of Summer Conferences. At that time we try to correct any problems we find.
Data/videoprojectors installed in classrooms are maintained twice yearly, once during the summer and again during the holiday break. The two main problems with these units are filters in need of cleaning and failing lamps. The newer (Hitachi) projectors send a message to our technicians via the campus network when filters need cleaning between maintenances. Older projectors are not network compatible and we depend on users to let us know via x6004 or x6650 that the projector is dimming or sending a filter needs changing message.
