2008 Summer Writing Competition

Welcome to the Willamette Law Review's Summer Writing Competition webpage. Below is a copy of the invitation letter that was mailed and e-mailed to those students ranked in the top third of their class. The invitation to compete in the write-on competition is intended only for those students. If you have any questions or concerns about the competition, please feel free to email one of the editors listed below. If you feel you should have received an invitation letter and did not, please contact Julie Fehrenbacher in student services for clarification. The competition materials will be posted on this webpage by 12 p.m. PDT on June 30 and are due to Student Services by 12 p.m. PDT on July 18.

This summer, Willamette University College of Law graduates surpassed their peers in Oregon State Bar examination passage for the sixth consecutive year. Among Willamette’s first-time takers, 89.2 percent passed the July 2008 examination. The state passage rate for all first-time takers was 81.
