Computer Services and Resources (WITS)
Networked personal computers and printers are available to law students and law/management joint degree students in the Law Library computer labs in Rooms 126, 236 and 304. Each networked PC offers access to WordPerfect X3, Microsoft Office 2010 including Excel, Powerpoint and Word, email, the Internet via Firefox, Lexis, Westlaw, LegalTrac, the library catalog, Computer Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) programs, Current Index to Legal Periodicals (CILP) and other applications. Other web research programs are available through the library web page. Library computers are restricted to law and joint degree students by login and password requirements.
Law students are asked to store all documents on the A:, D: or H: drives. Flash USB high density drives are available for sale at the bookstore. Files left on the C: drive (the hard drive) are accessible by anyone who uses the terminal, and therefore they may be viewed, changed or printed by anyone. The Law Library staff will delete files left on the C: drive on a regular basis.
Library computers are provided for academic purposes and are restricted through login and password requirements to law and joint degree students. A written exception not to exceed one day may be made for Willamette undergraduate students and alumni. Use of library computers for viewing or sending materials that other users, applying community standards, find offensive is prohibited. Access to the campus network is a privilege subject to University policies and may be revoked at any time.
