Paul Stritmatter Selected as Trial Attorney of the Year

College of Law alumnus Paul L. Stritmatter JD'69 recently was named the 2005 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Washington chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). The annual award recognizes a member attorney's long-standing record of excellence in legal practice. Membership in the ABOTA is by invitation only and includes the top plaintiff and defense attorneys in the country.

Stritmatter, a founding partner of Stritmatter Kessler Whelan Withey Coluccio, is one of Washington state's top personal injury trial lawyers. He has successfully argued and negotiated dozens of cases that resulted in seven-figure verdicts and settlements. Stritmatter is a founding member of the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice and served as the organization's president in 2003. He also has been president of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association and the Washington State Bar Association.

The annual awards ceremony and dinner for the Washington chapter of the ABOTA was held at the Columbia Tower Club in downtown Seattle on Nov. 4, 2005.
