The Multicultural Law Students Association (MLSA) is an organization dedicated to advancing issues related to race, ethnicity and cultural awareness at Willamette University College of Law (WUCL). The organization's membership is comprised of students of diverse background, regardless of race.

MLSA welcomes anyone who shares its desire to diversify the law school and the legal profession. As an organization, we seek to create a learning environment where diversity is not merely tolerated, but thrives.

Why is an organization like MLSA important?

Many of our members come from racially and ethnically diverse communities. To help students adjust to their new lives in Salem, Oregon, MLSA offers a support network for its members. New members have the opportunity to be mentored by second- and third-year law students through our peer support program and social events. Members also have the opportunity to hear words of wisdom passed down from judges and attorneys.

In addition to peer support, MLSA remains committed to calling attention to the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We support in organizing the annual celebration of Dr. King’s birthday at Willamette University.
