How Do I Become a Member?

How do I become a Moot Court Board Member?

The Moot Court Board is made up of Second and Third Year students. Students are eligible to apply at the end of their first year and second year.

First year students are encouraged to volunteer as bailiffs, witnesses, greeters, and jurors during on-campus competitions held through the school year. Volunteering gives first year students valuable insight into how competitions work and also are essential to the success of Moot Court Board sponsored competitions. Additionally, students who volunteer are awarded points towards their application to join the Moot Court Board. Students typically apply for admission following the First Year Appellate Competition each spring. When considering applications for the Moot Court Board, the Executive Committee considers volunteer points, written applications, and interview scores.

For more information on the application process, please see the bylaws.

If you have any questions about becoming a board member, please contact a member on the executive committee.
