Procedure to Clear Copyright

All Copyright Clearance Center permissions are now done via the CCC website at http://www.copyright.com/

Go to the CCC Web site: http://www.copyright.com/. You will need to complete a registration procedure. We suggest that you read all of the information about clearing copyright via CCC by clicking "For Academic Use" first and then "Academic FAQs."
After reading the FAQs return to the "For Academic Use" page.
Click "Create an account."
Click "Organization or company's use."
You will need to create a User Name and Password and submit your e-mail address.
If you wish someone else to receive the billing (such as your administrative assistant or secretary...this should not be a WITS staff member,) fill out the appropriate lines on the form.
Click submit.

You may begin using your account immediately. For further information, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions under the "For Academic Use" button. For any other questions you might have, click the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of the CCC pages. They will usually answer you within 24 hours.

For those documents not cleared by the CCC, you must seek permission from individual publishers. This permission must be in written form. If a work is in the public domain, e.g., government documents, no clearance is necessary.

After you have received all permissions you are ready to have your materials copied. Be sure to read the Willamette Copy Center and Willamette Store Requirements.
