Willamette University

- I am an assistant professor at Willamette
University. My primary interests are in the role of interactions
between species in generating evolutionary change. You can find my full
CV here.
- Ramona is research
technician
in the Smith lab, in charge of data curation, project oversight, and
supervising daily lab functions. Ramona's received her Master's degree
from Arizona State University in 2009.
- Willamette class of 2010, Jeff was an SCRP student and a
thesis student in the Smith lab. Jeff's thesis work uses data
simulation and bionformatic approaches to study molecular evolution.
Jeff received a Carson research grant to support his work.
- Willamette class of 2010, Caitlin was an
independent research student in the Smith lab. Caitlin is developping a
PCR-RFLP method for identifying yucca moth larvae.
- Willamette class of 2013, Theresa was an SCRP
student and an independent research student in the Smith lab.
Theresa's work examines popoulation genetic signatures of recent
demographic changes in Joshua trees.
- Willamette class of 2012, Kate was an SCRP student and an
independent research student. Kate's project examines the impact of
yucca moth larval feeding damage on Joshua tree seed production.
- Willamette class of 2012,
Jacob is an independent research student. Jacob's project is examining
the species status and conservation genetics in the Great Bustard (Otis tarda). Jacob's work is part
of a collaboration with Mimi Kessler at Arizona State University.
- Willamette class of 2012,
Tyler was an SCRP student and an independent research student. Tyler's
work examines patterns of hybridization and gene flow between yuccas.
- Willamette class of 2010,
Erik was a senior thesis student and summer research
assistant. Erik's work examines the
population genetics of introduced populations of the eastern grey
squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) in the Pacific Northwest.
