Perhaps so. When playing FFX and FFX-2 one begins to notice similarities between Square-Enix's other masterpiece, Final Fantasy VII. Lifestream, pyreflies, spheres, materia... Are these just examples of similar themes because the same scenerio writer, Kazushige Nojima, is responsible for both games? One would think so, until subtle hints are found all throughout FFX-2. In fact, there are two distinct parts where a connection isn't just hinted at, but directly implied. Furthermore, Nojima publically stated in an interview that indeed, the games are connected. This tells us that those hints and implications aren't just fan service. This connection must be real. Nojima went on in this interview to describe his take on how they are connected. It was brief, but enough was said to spark intrigue. This intrigue is what this web site is about. This is a place to discuss, debate, speculate and have fun with the connection. This is the first time something like this has been done to a Final Fantasy, our job at the FInal Fantasy Connection is to fill in the gaps. So what can you find here that is of interest to you? The evidence section displays proof of the connection that helps support our theories. These theories are the main content of the site, where we speculate on the connection and try to tell a story of how Final Fantasy X becomes Final Fantasy VII. The three story sections on FFX, FFX-2 and FFVII present background on aspects of each story in order to help shape our theories and ideas concerning the connection. Once a theory is formulated, it is then presented in the Forum. It is here that they are debated, corrected and contemplated until they will be added to the content of the site.
