Any additional materials used for this class can be downloaded from this website. Please bring your computers to class.

Course Requirements

There will be one in-class quiz and an in-class, closed book, comprehensive final exam. The monthly exam is 10 points and the final is 30 points. The quiz will consist of multiple choice questions. There is no makeup test for the quiz. If, however, you have a sudden serious emergency I will work with you to find a solution.

Final Exam Wednesday December 7 8:30-11:30 AM

There will be 6 homework assignments. The first, second, fourth, and fith are 10 points; the third and sixth are 5 points. All completed 10 point assignments turned in on time will receive at least 6 points; no late assignment will receive more than 8. All completed 5 point assignments turned in on time will receive at least 3 points; no late assignment will receive more than 4. Homework assignments are due before class (8:30 AM) on the due date specified below. Homework assignments should be submitted via ClassTools as eXcel documents: open AGSM-501: Hand Ins; upload assignment using the abbreviated title of the assignment and no spaces in the document title. For example, if you were turning in Aassignment 1, you would upload it as Ass1.doc. to the appropriate folder. ClassTools wiil automatically identify the sender and log the date and time of submission.

The correspondence between numerical and letter grades is:

            A       95 –100
            A-      90 – 94
            B+     85 – 89
            B       80 – 84
            B-      75 – 79
            C        60 – 74

I strongly encourage all students to attend class, participate in class discussions, study regularly, and complete the assigned readings and assignment sets in a timely manner. If a student is not present, he or she cannot learn from the lecture and the class discussion, and cannot add his or her thoughts to the class discussion. I will use ClassTools to take roll. Ten points will be awarded for class participation.

I expect success from all students and I try to create a climate of success. If you encounter problems in this class, please see me, a teaching assistant, or both. Please GET HELP as soon as you encounter problems, so that we can help you with additional explanations, practice problems, and advice on how to study this material.
