Biography Professor of Public Management at the Polytechnic of Technology and Economics (Fachhochschule fuer Technik und Wirtschaft), Berlin. After studying business administration (MBA from the Free University Berlin 1968) he received his Ph.D. in economics and public administration (University of Freiburg 1972). His dissertation was on Public Management ("Die Managementkonzeption des oeffentlichen Verwaltungsbetriebes," Berlin 1973). Christoph Reichard worked 20 years as professor for public management at the Berlin college for Public Administration. Since 1994 he is professor for public management at the Polytechnic for Technology and Economics, Berlin (faculty of business administration). He teaches in courses of general business administration and in the new "Public Management" program which since 1994 is jointly run by the Polytechnic for Technology and Economics and the Berlin college for public administration. The "PUMA" program is an innovative curriculum, it is one of the first in Germany. 1996/97 (as 1994/95) he is visiting professor of public management at the Institute of Public Management, Innsbruck University (Austria). Christoph Reichard has produced about 110 publications as author, co-author and as (co-) editor, among them several books about public management. The majority of publications is in German language. Christoph Reichard is member of different working and project groups in the field of administrative reforms (e.g.: at the ministry of interior of the state of Brandenburg, at the German City Association, at the Postgraduate School of Administrative Sciences at Speyer [member of the jury of the Speyer Quality Award 1992, 1994 and 1996]. He is member of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) and of the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA), and of several German professional associations. |
