Tax Aide
The 2009 tax season will be
my fifth as a tax aide in the VITA
program, co-sponsored by AARP and the IRS.
From February 1 through April 15 I will spend two days each week working
up peoples’ federal and
Contrary to rumor, there is
no age limit (upper or lower) on our clients, nor is there an income
limit. But we decline complex returns
with features we are not trained for.
AARP supplies the bodies (like me); the IRS supplies the computers and
software; their payoff is that we file almost all returns electronically, thus
saving work for them!
