The University Orchestra Director's Award was established in 2009 and funded by the generous donation of a long time resident and music lover in Salem, Oregon. The donor prefers to remain anonymous. Each year, the recipient is nominated by the orchestra and approved by its director.
Three Criteria (equally important)
- Musicianship - well-prepared for each class; strong musical contribution to the ensemble
- Dedication - a strong sense of responsibility for the ensemble's well-being
- Attitude - good attendance; diligent work ethic; enthusiastic engagement
