Title: Deforestation
and Water Use on Mount Kilimanjaro
Author: Sara DiNovi Abstract: The deforestation of Mt. Kilimanjaro has an impact on biodiversity, soil composition, resources, the economy, and culture. Degradation of the land is being caused by various groups and will remain unchanged until structured policy is put into place. Until then the underdeveloped region will face rapid environmental change including lower amounts of precipitation, which leads to less moisture overall, and causes resources such as water and wood to be more scarce.
