Download Efficiency.xls

Before downloading Efficiency.xls, carefully read the following:

  1. System Requirements:

a)      Efficiency.xls currently only works properly on platforms running some version of the Windows operating system.

b)      Efficiency.xls will only work if the Solver add-in for Excel is installed.  If you are uncertain whether this add-in has been installed on your computer, simply open Efficiency.xls.  The program will automatically search for Solver in the most common locations.  If this search fails to produce any results, you will be given the option to search manually search for the necessary files or to move to another machine on which Solver is installed.

  1. Download Efficiency.xls to your computer:  This application will not work correctly if you open it within a web browser.
  2. Set Excel Macro Security to Medium:  Efficiency.xls will only work properly if the macros are enabled before you open the file.  Whether or not macros are enabled depends on the level at which macro security is set.  I recommend that you set the macro security level to Medium.  To do so:

a)      On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Security.

b)      On the Trusted Sources tab, select the Trust access to Visual Basic Project check box.

  1. Turn on trusted access to Visual Basic Projects:   If you are using the 2002 (or newer) version of Excel, you must also ensure that access to the visual basic project is trusted before you open the file. To turn on trusted access to Visual Basic Projects:

a)      On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Security.

b)      On the Security Level tab, select the Medium raidio button.
