About Me
Among many things I am a rhetorical critic and teacher. Read the Interview with Myself to find out more. I currently teach in the Rhetoric and Media Studies Department of Willamette University. I taught at Ithaca College, NY, for a year, and have taught here and there briefly. I graduated from the University of Maryland. I'm also a lay ordained member of Thich Nhat Hanh's Zen Buddhist Order of Interbeing.

The Artist is Eri Takase at Eri Takase Artworks.

WoodMoor Village Blog
I have a WoodMoor Village blog (WoodMoor Village Zendo) that resides outside of Willamette's page structure. My blog is a community of pages devoted to fun, learning, and whatever else strikes my fancy.

Academic Site
This page is only a placeholder, an arrival gate if you will. I have moved to a weblog system for my course materials, and other content. You'll find course specific pages, and academic information, at that new site. Student resources have also being collected in that site. Course pages up are only those for the current semester. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to send me a note.

Why WoodMoor?
Because I find peace and solace in woods, in glens, in lakes, in nature. Walking through a grove of trees, giant witnesses to life, serves as a mindfulness bell and soothes my mind. WoodMoor Village has been around since 1996 in some incarnation or other, and so I've kept it as virtual leitmotif.
