Text:  ELEMENTARY LINEAR ALGEBRA – Kolman and Hill, 8th ed.

Text Coverage: Chapters 1 (1-6), 2 (1-4), 3 (1-8), 4 (1, 3-5), 5 (1-3, 5),

6 (1-6), 7 (1, 2, 4), Appendix B (as time permits)                                        

Coursework Grading:    Chapter Exams:   6 @ 60 points 360

Final: 120 points         120

Total Possible:      480

Course Grade: will be determined by total points, but will NOT be based on fixed,

pre-determined percentages. (However, 432 guarantees some kind

of A, 384 some kind of B, and 336 some kind of C.) The final will

be used as a tie-breaker when necessary.

Make-up Work:  If a chapter exam must be missed for a University approved event or

some other reason considered valid by the instructor an alternate

exam may be taken.  However, there must be PRIOR notification

and agreement that the student is eligible to take the alternate

exam.
