I am American, hear me roar.

307 million of us to ignore[1]

And I know weÕre the best country in the west[2]

WeÕve got the best industries around the world[3]

Soldiers protecting boys and girls.

As the Eagle flyÕs you know America is free[4]

(Chorus)

Oh yes, weÕre the best

And you know you canÕt deny

Oh yes we own the rest and look how high we fly

If we have to we can do anything

We are strong (strong)

We are invincible (invincible)

We are AMERICANS [5]

(End Chorus)

You can attack but never destroy

Because before you know it weÕve deployed

The strongest military force in the land[6]

While our Army is kickin ass

Farmers at home are catchin bass[7]

And thereÕs still some Skynyrd boys in the band[8]

(Chorus)

North Koreans canÕt compete[9]

And the Chinese can only weep[10]

Michael Phelps in the Olympics owns them all[11]

From the valleys to the sea

Were the best yes you and me

And you know that we hold no apologies[12]

Oh yes, weÕre the best

Cause weÕll always help the rest

WeÕll set the worlds beaches free[13]

Yes we will you and me

We are strong (strong)

We are invincible (invincible)

We are saviors (saviors)[14]

We are AMERICANS

We are AMERICANS drinkers

We are AMERICANS brewers

(Fade)

We are strong

We are invincible

We are American Beer drinkers

We are American Beer Brewers

We are the American Beer

[1] This refers to the total population of the United States of America, which after a 2009 estimate was said to be 307 million. This makes the United States of America the third most populated country in the world, following only China and India.

[2] The songwriterÕs intention with this line was to show his distaste for other North American countries.

[3] This line is the writerÕs way of promoting American corporations, and how he believes that they are the cornerstone to the international economy. It is also an attack against our competing countriesÕ economies.

[4] The vision of a Bald Eagle flying across the skies was the lyricistÕs symbolism for patriotism. The Bald Eagle is the United States of AmericaÕs national bird and symbol.

[5] This is the first time in this lyrical masterpiece that the songwriter mentions the name of the beer he is promoting ÒAMERICANSÓ and this is why it is capitalized.

[6] The line ÒThe strongest Military force in the landÓ was how the writer got across his message that the American Military was (in his opinion) the most elite force of trained professionals in the country. The United States Military is well known throughout the world to be one of the biggest superpowers.

[7] It has been thought that this line was the writers homage to his state, Iowa, where farming is very popular. It is also homage to bass fishing, a popular American sport that the author of the song was believed to participate in.

[8] This is a reference to one of the writerÕs favorite bands, ÒLynyrd SkynyrdÓ which is known to be a very patriotic American band. Many of their songs such as ÒFree BirdÓ, ÒSweet Home AlabamaÓ and ÒSimple ManÓ are associated with American values such as freedom and independence.

[9] This is a reference to the political tension between the United States of America and North Korea. It also refers to the North Koreans production of nuclear weapons which is very threatening to the U.S. government.

[10] Reference to economic struggle for dominance between the United States and China. In years past China has been far more supportive of capitalism instead of going with their communist background. The low labor costs of China have taken away a lot of business in the United States and because of this there is a lack of sympathy for Chinese business despite co-dependence.

[11]This is a reference to one of the writerÕs (and the United States) Olympic heroes, Michael Phelps. In his Olympic career he has won 14 gold medals for his swimming abilities, more than any other Olympian in history.

[12] The meaning of this line is that the writer believes the country to be perfect and should never apologize for any of the so called ÒcrimesÓ the international community has accused them for.

[13] This refers to the battle for the beaches of Normandy where American soldiers bravely tore through the German line of defense. This battle began on June 6th 1944 and continued on till mid July. This was one of the most famous battles in U.S. history and images from the battle have been associated with American bravery.

[14] This line is calling Americans the saviors of the world, which is a popular attitude in the United States. Many Americans feel that it is there duty to ÒsaveÓ other countries, whether our help is welcomed or not.
