Creating a Webpage Using
Word
1. Create a webpage using the webpage wizard (Word 2002
PC)
2. Create a webpage based on a template (Word 2002 PC)
3. Create a webpage based on a template (Word X Mac)
4. Create a blank webpage (PC and Mac)
5. Create a webpage from an existing Word document (PC
and Mac)
6. Editing
7. Create hyperlinks: Highlight the text and choose
Insert>Hyperlink. Must type the
entire link (http://www...)
8. Using graphics: Insert>Picture. Use Format Picture>Layout to align
text and graphics. The following
layouts generally work well in browsers:
Be
aware of the difference between inserting a graphic into your webpage file and
linking a graphic to your webpage file.
If you move or copy your webpage and you have linked graphics, be sure
to move the graphics as well.
9. Supporting Files: Be default, Word creates supporting
files that contain parts of your webpage and puts them in a folder that is
given the same name as your page file with Ò_filesÓ added (myPage.html +
myPage_files.html). If you move
your page file, you must move the supporting file folder as well or your page
will be broken

that; Òroyalty-freeÓ means that you must buy or license the image (costs range
from $1.00 up into the hundreds) but can then use it as often as you like with
no additional royalty fee payment.
Many images on the web are watermarked invisibly so that usage can be
tracked.
Attribution: when you use
someone elseÕs image, it is polite to give them credit with a small tag.
