Making iMovies
 
Creating a web movie
1.   Connect the digital camera to the computer.
2.   Start iMovie.
3.   Click the “digital camera” icon at the lower left. Be sure camera is set to VTR.
4.   Make sure you are at the point in your video you want to use. Click “import.” On the resource area at the right, a clip appears and shows the continuous time of the clip.
5.   Click “stop” (the square underneath the import button) at the end of the clip you want. It might appear as multiple clips if you stopped and started the camera when videotaping.
6.   Drag the movie clips from the resource area to the workspace at the bottom of the page.
7.   Go up to “File: Export Movie.”
8.   Choose “Export to: Quicktime” and “Format: Web Movie, Small.” Click “Export.” Choose a location to save the clip (probably your zip disk). Create a name for the movie. The name must end in “.mov”. Click “save”. The movie will be created. A one-minute clip will take approximately 7 minutes if you are in the computer lab.
 
To Upload iMovie to Blackboard
1.   Go to your course Blackboard site http://blackboard.willamette.edu
2.   Click on “Discussion Board”.
3.   Create a new message.
·     Provide an abbreviated lesson plan,
·     a context for the short clip, and
·     2-3 questions that will stimulate discussion about topics related to your teaching as well as provide you with interesting and useful feedback on your teaching.
4. Click on the “Browse” button next to the attachment box.
5. Select your iMovie (make sure the names has no spaces, no capitols, and end in .mov.
6. Submit the message.
