Facebook votes create a new exhibition at the museum
The Hallie Ford Museum of Art invites you to their Facebook page to choose artwork for an upcoming exhibition entitled “On Demand.” Thirty works from the museum’s Northwest Collection have been selected by the museum’s curators and will be displayed on the museum’s Facebook page where voting will open on April 29 and conclude on the evening of May 5.
The exhibition has been organized by museum Collection Curator Jonathan Bucci who says, "The museum is always looking for new ways to engage with our supporters. This exhibition will allow our friends to select artworks that have not been seen in many years, or in some instances, ever seen at the museum."
This experimental exhibition is unique in that the process for choosing art for exhibitions is normally reserved to the museum and exhibition curators.
Choices will include works by glass artist William Morris; Portland painters George Johanson, Miles Cleveland Goodwin and William Owen; Seattle artists Jeffry Mitchell and Fay Jones; and photographer Susan Seubert, among others. The top seven to nine artworks, depending on sizes and space, will be displayed in the “On Demand” exhibition opening May 20 and continuing till Aug. 4 in the Maribeth Collins Lobby.
