This initiative provides students in the arts, humanities and humanistic social sciences with new opportunities for artistic creation and expression in courses as well as in summer research projects guided by faculty. The initiative infuses arts and humanities curriculum with increased opportunity for students to create, analyze, and appreciate works developed for artistic expression or informational communication. Learning by Creating also aims to infuse digital technology and multimedia creative production more broadly into the curriculum and boost teacher-scholar career development for mid-career faculty in the arts and humanities.

Last grants for Student Grants and Faculty Mid-Career Development were awarded for 2017. No further grants will be awarded in this category.

Grants for Creating Curriculum and Visiting Scholar/Artist are available for Spring 2018.
