Overview

This program is located at John Cabot University. John Cabot is an American liberal arts university situated in the heart of Rome. The mission of the University is to provide an educational experience firmly rooted in the American tradition of the liberal arts and solidly international in orientation. John Cabot is characterized by international faculty and staff and a diverse student population. This program offers internship and a volunteer opportunity called "Italy Reads" for interested students. Minimum GPA required by host program: Based on WU approval. 

Academics

A broad range of liberal arts courses are offered including Italian courses from beginning to advanced. All courses (other than language learning courses) are conducted in English. Preliminary course schedules and syllabi found here.

Housing/Meals

Students are housed in apartment style arrangements usually sharing a room with a common living area, kitchen, and bathroom. Descriptions can be found on the JCU Housing Options site. The apartments have kitchen but JCU also offers a meal plan system very like Willamette's. Read the meal plan description on the JCU site.

Dates

The JCU Rome program is available during both the fall and spring semesters. Fall semester starts early September and ends mid December; spring semester starts late January and concludes at the end of May.

Cost

If considering the program in Rome, talk to an OIE advisor about the Italian Visa application process during your advising session. The housing costs as listed on the JCU housing website will be charged directly to your Willamette student account. If you choose to enroll in a meal plan at JCU, this charge will also be charged to your Willamette student account.
