Access Policy

Willamette and community users are welcome once they have registered with the Archives department.

Access Restrictions

Some materials are not open to researchers, or are closed for a set amount of time.

Requesting Materials

Researchers are not allowed to browse within the archives, but can work with finding aids or staff to determine which records they would like to examine.

Reading Room Regulations

All Archives material must be examined in the Reading Room, which is open to all Willamette users and community users who agree to abide by the regulations.

Care and Handling of Materials

In order to preserve and maintain the integrity of archival items, researchers are asked to take precautions when examining materials.

Records Management

There is a policy in place that addresses the retention and archiving of Willamette University records.

Remote Research

Staff members are happy to help answer questions submitted by mail, telephone or e-mail.

Reproduction Services

Depending on an item's ability to be reproduced, the Archives department will copy or scan items for a fee.
