Biography
Dean M. Richardson served as articles editor for the Syracuse Law Review.
Professor Richardson served as legal counsel to the Rochester, New York, Urban Renewal Agency from 1970 to 1972 and was a partner with Wood, Richardson and O’Bryne in Rochester, New York, from 1973 to 1974. He joined Willamette University College of Law in 1974 and was an NEH Fellow at Harvard Law School during 1980. Professor Richardson teaches Torts, American Indian Law, Products Liability and Sports Law and speaks and writes in those fields. He helps direct the school’s tutorial and minority affairs programs and speaks regarding racial discrimination issues. Professor Richardson also serves as Faculty Advisor to the school’s Sports Law Society. He is active in a number of civic organizations as a board member and legal advisor.
In 2008, Professor Richardson received the United Methodist Award for Exemplary Teaching and Service, which celebrates the extraordinary impact a professor can have both inside the classroom and within the community.
