ELS is dedicated to promoting awareness of, and participation in, environmental issues and activities on campus and in the community; to influencing the law, public policy, legislation, and justice; to improving the environmental policies of Willamette University College of Law; to promoting environmental careers, practices, and scholarship; and to providing opportunities for advocacy of environmental issues.
The Environmental Law Society is an organization dedicated to the enhancement of understanding environmental law and how it affects and relates to all aspects of the substantive practice of law. Participants include students and faculty interested in environmental protection, regulatory compliance, business and corporate defense. The Society acts as a clearinghouse for information relating to environmental law and sponsors presentations of outside speakers who have experience in the resolution of environmental disputes and problems. There are periodic meetings for members to share their experience and provide guidance and direction to others interested in the practice of environmental law.
