Willamette alumnus honored for making a difference in community

Dave Haugeberg '62, an attorney in McMinnville, Ore., recently was named Person of the Year by PriceCatcher.com for making a positive difference in the community.

PriceCatcher.com, a Yamill County community website, said Haugeberg is known for his long efforts providing leadership for the cause of creating a roadway to bypass Newberg and Dundee.

He has been involved in numerous projects to ease traffic in the McMinnville area, and he has been active in the McMinnville Teen Center, Swim Center, Chamber of Commerce, the Boys Scouts of America and the Yamhill County Economic Development Committee.

Currently he is a member of the Yamhill County Parkway Committee, a director and president of Mid-Valley Rehabilitation Inc. and the McMinnville Charitable Fund and a director of the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation.

Haugeberg, who majored in politics at Willamette, was named McMinnville First Citizen in 1993 and received this year's Yamhill County Bar Association Bob Payne Service Award.
