Willamette Theatre presents Aquitania
Oct. 6 and 7 previews of "Aquitania" by Stephen Legawiec begin the 2010-11 Willamette Theatre season. Directed by Susan Coromel, the play runs each Thursday, Friday and Saturday through Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Matinees are scheduled Oct. 10 and 16 at 2 p.m.
This comedy with song takes place in the mythical kingdom of Aquitania and is based on characters from "Legends of Charlemagne." Set in the 1930s, the kingdom of Aquitania is at war. The king summons reluctant heroine Marguerite to help save the kingdom. Magic, rituals and plot reversals abound in the ensuing battle between good and evil.
"Aquitania" explores the truth that lies beneath the surface of every great myth. Filled with memorable characters, this homage to Lewis Carroll takes us on a strange and wonderful journey - Marguerite's voyage of self-discovery.
