Star Trees Ceremony Dec. 4

On Dec. 4, Willamette University invites the community to the 14th Annual Star Trees Lighting Ceremony.

The event begins at 4 p.m. with a holiday dinner at Goudy Commons, including roasted rosemary-spiked turkey breast with Oregon cranberry sauce, roasted local winter squash, Painted Hills beef brisket, three-cheese ravioli, salads and more. Finish with gingerbread cookies, egg-nog cheesecake with cranberry compote, red velvet cupcakes or white chocolate raspberry mousse cups. Dinner is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 5-8. Children age four or less dine free with adult.

At 6 p.m., stop by Waller Hall for hot chocolate and to donate to Beta Theta Pi's annual PennyCoat clothing drive to benefit people in need.

At 6:30 p.m., the lighting ceremony begins. It will be followed by a free Family Holiday Concert in Smith Auditorium, sponsored by the university's music department. The Willamette University Band, Headband and other ensembles will perform an array of seasonal music. Seating is limited.
