CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to share the latest in a series of videos by documentary filmmaker Mike Palmieri highlighting our distinctive institutional characteristics, this one focusing on opportunities for our students across the street in the offices of Oregon government and beyond. In addition to community members included in the most recent video, Mike and I would like to publicly thank professor Melissa Buis Michaux for her invaluable assistance on this project.

These videos are foundational parts of a larger marketing effort designed to tell the Willamette story through the voices of community members — faculty, students, staff and alums. At a time that the University of Oregon has garnered attention for a very different approach to institutional marketing, it may be helpful to be aware of the contrast.

In the next and culminating step for this project, Mike will weave our various distinction videos into a single introductory piece about Willamette. I look forward to sharing that work with you and others in the months ahead. In the meantime, feel free to contact me with questions, suggestions or comments.

Go Bearcats!
