In addition to merit-based scholarships, many students are eligible for additional funds from University, federal, or state sources. Applicants who do not qualify for merit-based scholarships may be eligible for awards from these sources.

If you are attending two institutions of higher education simultaneously (even if attendance only overlaps 1 day), this will impact your federal student aid eligibility at both schools, and you must notify the Financial Aid Office immediately.

The grant and scholarship funds listed here all require that the student file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

 

This grant is funded by Willamette University. Your eligibility is determined by the Office of Financial Aid and is based on information provided on your FAFSA and your academic record. Renewal requires a new FAFSA each year. Willamette University Grants are typically renewed for a similar dollar amount each year, provided your family has not experienced dramatic changes in finances and/or the number of family members attending college.

Description and Eligibility Requirements
Awarded by Willamette University to students who demonstrate academic potential and financial need.  In order for this award to be renewed, you must meet Financial Aid SAP requirements.  Can be renewed for up to 9 semesters or until the student's graduation requirements are completed, whichever comes first.  Students must be enrolled full-time each semester in order to be eligible for the Willamette Grant.

Amounts vary according to student’s financial need as determined by the FAFSA in the student’s first year.

Disbursements
Funds will be credited to your student account to offset tuition and fees at the start of each semester, provided the student has submitted all documentation requested by the Financial Aid Office at least 15 days prior to the first day of classes and is registered for the appropriate number of credits for the term.

This award is funded by Willamette University. Eligibility is based on the student’s academic record at the time of admission and the information provided on the FAFSA. This award will be automatically renewed each year (for a maximum of 8 semesters).

Awarded by Willamette University to students who demonstrate academic potential and financial need.  In order for this award to be renewed, you must meet Financial Aid SAP requirements.  Can be renewed for up to 8 semesters, or until the student's graduation requirements are completed, whichever comes first.  Students must be enrolled full-time each semester in order to be eligible for the Jason Lee Award.

Amounts vary according to student's EFC as determined by the FAFSA in the student’s first year.

Application Requirements
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) required the first year. Renewed annually without a FAFSA for students who remain in good academic standing.

Disbursements
Funds will be credited to your student account to offset tuition and fees at the start of each semester, provided the student has submitted all documentation requested by the Financial Aid Office at least 15 days prior to the first day of classes and is registered for the appropriate number of credits for the term.

This grant is funded by the federal government. Your eligibility is determined by the Department of Education and is based on the information provided on your FAFSA. To renew this award in future years, you must file a new FAFSA each year and continue to meet the Pell eligibility requirements as determined by the federal government.  Once a student has completed their graduation requirements, they are no longer eligible for this grant.

Description and Eligibility Requirements
Awarded by the federal government to students with the lowest Expected Family Contributions (EFC).  In order for this award to be renewed, you must meet Financial Aid SAP requirements.  You can find your eligibility timeline on your SAR (Student Aid Report) from the FAFSA.

Amounts vary annually and are determined by the EFC.

Funds will be credited to your student account to offset tuition and fees at the start of each semester, provided the student has submitted all documentation requested by the Financial Aid Office at least 15 days prior to the first day of classes and is registered for the appropriate number of credits for the term.  If your total financial aid more than covers your tuition and fees charges (including room and board) on your student account and so results in a credit balance, that will be refunded to you on the Friday before the semester starts.

This grant is funded by the federal government and is awarded by Willamette University as a supplement to eligible Pell Grant recipients. Renewal requires a new FAFSA each year, and continued demonstration of Pell eligibility.  Once a student completes their graduation requirements, they are no longer eligible for this grant.

Description and Eligibility Requirements
Awarded to students with exceptional financial need – that is, those with the lowest family contributions who also receive Federal Pell Grants.  In order for this award to be renewed, you must meet Financial Aid SAP requirements.

Yearly Amounts
Range from $500 to $4,000.

Funds will be credited to your student account to offset tuition and fees at the start of each semester, provided the student has submitted all documentation requested by the Financial Aid Office at least 15 days prior to the first day of classes and is registered for the appropriate number of credits for the term.

This grant is funded by the State of Oregon. Your eligibility is determined by the Oregon Office of Student Access and Completion  and is based on the information provided on your FAFSA. Renewal requires a new FAFSA each year and continued demonstration of OOG eligibility (as determined by the State of Oregon).  Once a student completes their graduation requirements, they are no longer eligible for this grant.

Description and Eligibility Requirements
Awarded to residents of Oregon based strictly on family size, income, and the number of family members attending college.  In order for this award to be renewed, you must meet Financial Aid SAP requirements. Can be renewed for up to 8 semesters.

Amounts vary annually and are determined by the Oregon Office of Student Access and Completion.
