International Education
Developing your international perspective is vital to your success in today's increasingly global workforce. Study abroad is a life-changing experience allowing you to explore foreign cultures, languages, cuisine, travel and international affairs — while expanding your world view and maybe even discovering new passions and career goals.
More than 50% of Willamette students study or conduct research internationally at some point during their college experience. You can hone your Spanish while living for a year with a host family in Chile, spend a semester at sea aboard an academic cruise ship or soak up the summer sun while researching Greek culture.
The Office of International Education can help you choose from both semester- and year-long programs in more than 40 countries, including Australia, Spain, China, France, South Africa and Ireland, to name a few.
Willamette also offers post sessions, shorter international study experiences connected to special courses that allow you to gain international understanding on a smaller scale.
Back at home, Willamette's close relationship with Tokyo International University of America, located just across the street, can help you develop your intercultural awareness and make friends from around the world.
