Onboarding and Basic Use

First-time Login

MyWillamette Modal: First time login

When you’re visiting my.willamette.edu for the first time, you’ll be prompted with a set of options. These options will help determine the academic feed and links shown in the dashboard and in the wayfinding section.

  • Select your group types (i.e. if you’re a staff member who wishes to see student links, select Student and Staff)

By default, all members will see university-wide links, selecting the college selections will show additional links related to their colleges

  • Select your colleges

*Please note that these settings can be re-adjusted afterwards in your profile settings (your profile image in the top right corner).

Updating Your Settings and Preferences

  1. Open myWillamette
  2. Click on the profile icon (your profile image) located in the top-right corner. This action will open your profile settings
  3. In your profile settings, you can customize your constituent preferences by selecting the group(s) you belong to: faculty, staff, and students

By default, you will have access to All-University content.

If you want to see more personalized resources choose the specific school(s) you are associated with from the following options:

  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • Pacific Northwest College of Art
  • School of Computing & Information Sciences
  • College of Law
  • Atkinson School of Management

This will ensure that you receive content tailored to your interests and affiliations.

Clicking on “Save” will update your preferences.

Switching between light and dark modes

  1. Open myWillamette
  2. Click on the profile icon (your profile image) located in the top-right corner. This action will open your profile settings
  3. At the top, you can click on the toggle right below your name to switch between dark and light mode

Note: Your dark/lightmode preferences will be saved for later sessions.

Essential Links and Favorites

MyWillamette: Favorites links

When you visit the dashboard, the first two sections will contain the favorites and essentials.

Essential Links

These links are generated by the selected group and colleges from your first time onboarding setup or from your profile settings.

Favorites

This is a custom collection of links generated and saved by you, the user. To add links to this section:

  • Open the resources panel (the top right search icon with a magnifying glass)
  • Select the bookmark next to the link you’d like to add to your favorites

There are two days to un-favorite your links

Edit favorites
  • Method 1: Select the “Edit” button on the right, inside of “Favorites
    • Click on the trashcan icon to remove the link.
    • Additionally, you can rearrange your favorites by clicking and dragging on the six dot icon, left of the link.
    • When you’re ready to save your changes, click on the “Edit” icon to exit out of the editing mode
  • Method 2: Open the resources panel (the top right search icon with a magnifying glass)

    • Select the same bookmark (this will be indicated by the filled bookmark icon)
