Gary Klein is the Hatfield Library's liaison to several units of Willamette University in Portland & Salem: the Atkinson Graduate School of Management; the Economics department; the Politics, Policy, Law and Ethics department; the Psychology department, and the Civic Communication & Media Studies department. He is also the Hatfield Library's go to person for Statistics. Gary's office is located inside the Hatfield Library (on the First Floor, near the windows facing the parking lot).

Mr. Klein's primary responsibility is to assist students and faculty in fulfilling their information needs. The range of services provided includes: assistance in detailed subject specific assistance, locating statistical data, guidance in evaluating & selecting appropriate resources, and creating course related instruction on using information resources. His secondary responsibilities are providing general reference and instruction services to the entire Willamette community, and helping the Hatfield Library maintain quality control over its vendor supplied databases.

    In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, during the Fall 2020 semester, Gary will be rotating working both on campus, and from his home. His general work hours are:

  • Mon, Tue and Fri = 9am -- 6pm
  • Wednesdays and Thursdays (late hours) = Noon -- 9pm

Appointments can be arranged during these or at other mutually convenient times by request with Mr. Klein.
