Read 2,000-year-old texts in Latin or Greek. Secure a paid research internship at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art. Study abroad in Athens or Rome. Examine a Neolithic complex that predates Stonehenge at our archaeological field school in Scotland.

Those are just some of the learning opportunities you’ll discover in our Classical Studies program. You’ll explore the fascinating cultures of the ancient Mediterranean that have shaped our modern civilization, including the art, history, literature and religious beliefs of the peoples of ancient Greece, Rome and the Near East.

Along the way, you’ll meet influential scholars from around the world through a lecture series sponsored by our Center for Ancient Studies and Archaeology. You’ll also have a chance to participate in the only undergraduate classics conference on the entire West Coast.

Our graduates have emerged as leaders in law, medicine, business, education. Others are making an impact in chemistry, physics, engineering, environmental science, mathematics and interactive media. Whatever path you choose, our Classical Studies program will prepare you for a career of substance and a life of purpose.
