The Gender Resource and Advocacy Center is excited to launch this virtual summer component of the linQ program! We are happy to invite incoming LGBTQ+ students and allies to join our affinity-based cohort program to help you get virtually oriented to your college experience and set you up for success before you attend Opening Days! In a virtual environment, participants will connect to LGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty. During the academic year participants will focus on self-growth through identifying strengths and challenges and learning strategies to overcome obstacles. You will also connect meaningfully with others throughout fall semester. This program is designed to build a strong sense of community and help you begin to connect with peers and build relationships across differences. We will focus on skill-building for wellbeing. In an effort to support you on your journey to leadership for positive social change, you’ll identify cultural messages you’ve internalized and find opportunities to foster equity in your community. There will be field trips to Portland and the coast and opportunities to meet current LGBTQ+ students, staff, faculty, and alumni, and learn from organizations in the community.
